The arboretum is open seasonally, from 1 April to 30 September, daily from 9 AM to 7 PM. Admission is free; only guided tours for organised groups are paid, by prior arrangement. Outside that season, the grounds are closed to visitors.

The Arboretum, dedicated to the 1863 January Uprising insurgents, was founded in 1988 and has officially held botanical garden status since October 2023. Across 26 hectares in the heart of the Knyszyńska Forest, it holds around 500 species and varieties of trees and shrubs from around the world, grouped into collections — junipers, false cypresses, thujas, rhododendrons — alongside native forest vegetation. One of its most charming spots is the Big Pond, with water lilies blooming in summer, next to a vine-covered gazebo and a children's playground. The site also has a Forest School classroom and a Museum of the History of the Knyszyńska Forest. The arboretum lies on the January Uprising Trail, right next to a war cemetery from the 1831 November Uprising. Nearby, it's also worth visiting the Kopna Góra bison enclosure.
An hour to ninety minutes is enough for an unhurried walk along the arboretum's paths. Add a visit to the nearby bison enclosure and it's worth planning half a day — a good target for a family trip from Białystok.
