Łapy is about 30 km west of Białystok, on the Narew river. In normal traffic the drive takes around 35-40 minutes.
The fastest way is to call 888-888-111 or book online in the Bi.tax app. You can also book the return trip straight away, or ask the driver to wait on site if you're planning a short stop.
Łapy is Podlaskie's "railway town" — its growth dates back to the Warsaw-Petersburg railway line opened in 1862 and the Railway Rolling Stock Repair Works built in 1870. It's worth seeing the historic water tower by the railway station, the wooden houses of the former "Wygwizdowo" railway workers' estate from the 1920s, and the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. A green hiking trail, the Railwaymen's Trail, runs from Łapy towards Suraż, and the town itself is close to the Narew National Park, known as "Poland's Amazon".
A walk around the centre, the station and the railway workers' estate usually takes about 1.5-2 hours. If you want to add a trip to the Narew river, plan for more time.
